Just as Brutus realized after he and his co-conspirators had slain Caesar that their actions would unleash a whirlwind of events that they did not envisage nor could they control, so to is President George W. Bush now confronted with a maelstrom of fury that threatens to envelop not just his election hopes but the dignity and respect of his nation against  an increasingly agitated and disillusioned world opinion.
